Rico Design Creative Bubble Scrubby Yarn: A Review
Rico Design Creative Bubble Solids & Prints is a 100% polyester scrubby sparkly yarn. The braided center has the “scrubby” fringe woven through it. Unfortunately, the fringe is not tightly oven into the braid core and can be pulled loose.

Hooray! Let the fun begin just choosing the colors!
This is a tightly braided yarn with the fringe shooting out from all around the yarn. While this is 100% polyester the fringe does feel different than the core of the yarn.
This is one of the softest sparkly yarns I have knit with to date! It’s difficult to imagine this being able to do a good scrub job, but it could do a light scrub job without irritating your hands since it has a softer texture.
Even though the softness makes me question its scrubbability, I absolutely love the texture of this scrubby! The yarn was quite easy to knit with and didn’t get to me with my texture issues. The fringe is definitely softer than other sparkly scrubby yarns.

I was able to pull from the center quite easily on this one. The only thing was huge yarn barf. I tried to ignore it because (look at the pic) it didn’t look too bad. But actually it was a huge tangled mess. Thankfully I was just knitting a scrubby so it was easy for me to weave my knitting needle and WIP through the tangled yarns and get it free.
I love love love the colors of this and how the finished object turned out. Out of the sparkly yarn that I tried so far, this one is less sparkly, and more “glowy”. Like it really shines in the light which is fun and different!

Pros & Cons
PROS
- Soft!
- Easy to knit with!
- Many solids and some print to choose from!
CONS
- Not a very scrubby yarn
- The fringe does not appear to be tightly woven into the core resulting in stray fringe coming loose (see pic)

Final thought on Rico Design Creative Bubble Solids & Prints Yarn
Overall I really enjoyed knitting with this yarn and I do like the way the products look. However, the yarn was not as tightly put together as I would have liked and I’m sure that with some scrubbing it would fall apart.

And there you have it! If you have any questions about this yarn or have a pattern to use with it? Let me know in the comments!
