Lily Sugar’n Cream Scrub Off Full Review
Lily Sugar’n Cream Scrub Off Yarn is available in 23 print colorways. This yarn is so soft. Like, seriously? I have knit with Sugar’n Cream 100% cotton yarns before, none of them are this soft! And it’s a little weird because this one is called “Scrub Off”?
I enjoyed how soft it was. It was quite difficult moving from the smooth plied cotton to the “scrubby” portion of the yarn. Each transition, I found it quite difficult. Knitting with the soft plied cotton section was easy to knit with. The scrubby part was harder to get used to and by the time I did, it switched back to the soft section.
Even the scrub part of this yarn is soft. I can’t see it being useful for dishes or counters or anything. But as a face scrubby? Absolutely! Exfoliate with that scrubby stuff and then wipe clean with the soft part.
I wished that it had switched between the two textures more frequently, but the finished product looks good. Another odd thing was that sometimes the soft plies would be a solid color, and the scrubby would be a print. But then the scrubby would be solid, and the soft plies would be prints. Back and forth which was a little strange to me.
Pros & Cons
PROS
- Lots of color options
- So soft and good as a face scrubby!
CONS
- Difficult transitioning between yarn textures
Final thoughts on Lily Sugar’n Cream Scrub Off
I love knitting with cotton yarn! Especially soft cotton yarn, and this did not disappoint. The finished objects looked interesting. Though it was difficult to do the Kitchener Stitch with the scrubby part of the yarn.
